John McCain, every ones favorite "elder statesman" finally sealed the deal with the devil by doing a complete 180 and supporting Jerry Falwell, the same man he denounced as "an agent of intolerance" in his 2000 campaign. Looks like he realized that the only group still willing to vote for a republican candidate is the christian right. Got to at least act the part I guess...

In addition to begging the extreme right for votes, McCain also found time to do some straight talk about economics (though he admits he is unqualified in this area). In a lengthy speech McCain told those on the verge of bankruptcy to suck it up because the goverment is not going to help you.

“It is not the duty of government to bail out and reward those who act irresponsibly, whether they are big banks or small borrowers” McCain said.

This comes on the heals of rising food and gas prices and a nation so in debt it cant even breath. Im sure it was all their fault though... guess only the strong (read as Corporate) will survive in America.
