While every other Denver blogger was vamped up for Monolith, The National and Arcade Fire all within a few weeks of each other, we here at KSN have been counting the days till the
Two Gallants.
I had heard a few songs from them and thought they were great, but when I heard they were bringing their world famous live act to the Hi-Dive in support of their new
album out on Saddle Creek Sept 25 I made arrangements.
I know it could never match up to the Arcade fire at Red Rocks or the very hyped Monolith, but I can tell you that I have never seen such a spiritual and moving show.
The two piece put on a very intimate and meaningful set that stretched for over an hour and featured some interesting improvisation and very little banter. In fact all in attendance were focused on the stage. There was little chatter and, for the first time in a long time I was worried if I spoke, I would miss a line or a chord.
Looking back....I would pick this show any day.
